Tampa Bay Buccaneers….An Exciting Team To Watch

In 1976, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers became a part of the NFL. The “Bucs” as they are often referred to, got a rough start, but in recent years they have been consistent contenders. They have to their credit six division championships, a conference championship, and in 2002, they won Super Bowl XXXVII.

From 1967 to 1997, Tampa Stadium, often called “The Big Sombrero” because of its shape, was the home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In 1998, they moved to the new Raymond James Stadium, which has seating for up to 75,000 people. This stadium is unique in that it has a 103-foot pirate ship in the stands that fires its cannon every time the Bucs score and an animated, remote controlled parrot that sits on the stern and talks to fans as they pass by. The 92-foot wide video screens are some of the largest in the league, and in the corners are spinning trilon billboards.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneer cheerleaders, formerly known as the SwashBuclers, are an important part of the game day experience in Tampa. They are famous for their complicated dance routines. A select group of cheerleaders also serve as ambassadors off the field, helping with local charities and performing at events all over the world, even providing morale and entertainment to our troops overseas.

These beautiful, talented women are not just cheerleaders. They are also mothers, businesswomen, students, and athletes who make time to perform the responsibilities expected of a Tampa Bay cheerleader.

Joining the cheerleaders in supporting their favorite team is Captain Fear the Buccaneer. This lucky pirate is the mascot for the Buccaneers and is available for appearances and parties in the community.

In the community, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are committed to improving the quality of life for those less fortunate. They are involved in numerous charities and foundations, donating time and money to support their causes. Many of the individual players have also started their own foundations, supporting many causes and giving children and underprivileged in the area a hand.

Some of these programs include the Better Us Foundation, which gives assistance to teenagers in the last few years of high school, helping them to attend college or vocational education; the Josh Bidwell Foundation which helps people fighting cancer; and the Shelton Quarles IMPACT foundation, which helps at risk children and families.

Since the beginning, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been loved by everyone. Not only do they provide family friendly entertainment, but they also help in their community. The men and women of the Bucs franchise are talented, athletic, and friendly. This team is definitely one that you should see.
